A Decade in the Making: A Story of Love

After a decade of love, Kirsten and Brylan said “I DO” on a beautiful fall morning at 22 Acres Farm. With rustic details and loved ones remembered, their wedding was the perfect start to their life together.

The Start

Eighth grade can be an interesting time for us all. But, for Kirsten and Brylan, it started an adventure to last a lifetime. After being introduced through mutual friends at The Hartford Fair at fourteen years old, their friendship quickly became more and the two started dating.

Over nine years later, Brylan asked Kirsten to be his wife on Christmas Day. These middle school sweethearts could not wait to spend forever together at last, and quickly began planning their special day!

Their Rustic Colombus Wedding

When Kirsten and Brylan began planning their wedding, they had a rustic/farm style in mind. After visiting the beautiful barn space and surrounding fields of 22 Acres Farm, they knew it was the perfect place to bring their dreams to life.

“We loved the barn!” exclaimed Kirsten when asked what she thought about our venue. She also suggested visiting during an Open House at 22 Acres Farm to help create the perfect day, allowing several opportunities to see the space and browse the Something Borrowed Room.

Kirsten also recommended couples “Take advantage of the Something Borrowed Room so you aren’t stuck with a bunch of décor.” And that is exactly why we offer it!

The First Look

When asked what moment Kirsten was looking forward to on her wedding day, the answer was short and simple. The “First Look” photos were an important and beautiful moment that did not disappoint.

Kirsten also had a special “First Look” with her dad. 3 Strand Stories captured this moment perfectly and provided beautiful, lasting memories of these special, once-in-a-lifetime moments.

Decor and Special Touches

It was important to Kirsten and Brylan to include some loved ones who have passed. One special touch we loved seeing was a beautiful arrangement using one of Kirsten’s grandfather’s equestrian trophies. It was a sweet way to include someone so dearly loved on their special day.

The special touches throughout their wedding show just how much Kirsten and Brylan care for each other and those they love. Aside from their own personal additions, most of their decor came from our Something Borrowed Room, a free service we offer to couples who choose to celebrate with us.

The Celebration

Our Honey Hive Beverage Trailer was used for their bar, and Buckeye Bartending kept friends and loved ones happy—and their thirsts quenched. This horse trailer turned bar was especially converted for this purpose and is available for rent at any of our events.

The couple’s beautiful wedding cake, sweets and treats were all made with care by Simply Sweet Bakery. The happy couple and those celebrating with them enjoyed a beautiful assortment of goodies.

Foraged 774 created stunning bouquets and arrangements, with fall colors and simple greenery—beautiful touches to an already picture-perfect fall day. The weather was amazing, and every detail worked out better than could be expected.

The Ceremony

Of the many beautiful location options 22 Acres Farm offers, this happy couple said “I Do” in front of our cornfield. The bride requested our steer to make a special appearance before the ceremony. With some of their closest friends and family, they officially started their forever on that lovely October day.

While a “tale as old as time” might sound cheesy to you, we think Kirsten and Brylan’s love story is pretty heart-warming. We are grateful they chose us to help bring their wedding dreams to life. From everyone here at 22 Acres Farm, we wish you all the best in your future together!
