When Darby first met Ernie, she instantly sensed that he was “the one.” Trusting her intuition, the couple was engaged just two months later. Although some may find the pace of their romance fast, the couple agrees that “When you know, you know.”

When You’re Certain, Why Wait?

Just two months after they met, Ernie, a Marine, popped the question on the Riverwalk in Wilmington, North Carolina. Overjoyed, Darby screamed and jumped up and down—so much that Ernie had to gently ask her to stop jumping so he could finish proposing!

“We chose 22 Acres because from the moment we inquired, they treated us like FAMILY. They didn’t see us as just another couple.”

Because of Ernie’s military schedule, he couldn’t be present for the initial tour. Thankfully, the couple was able to visit 22 Acres Farm together while Ernie was home on leave—a personal touch that was appreciated given their time limitations.
