At 22 Acres Farm, we don’t carry beef products all year long. We raise & sell what we have.
Most of our customers have never purchased beef from a local farm before and that’s ok! We will walk you through the entire process!
Please keep in mind that weights vary for each animal. The numbers below are estimates only.
Cutting, vacuum packing, labeling, and freezing are included.
We pick up from the butcher and then you pick up from our farm.
Our current steer could be processed winter of 2023 or spring of 2024.
If you are interested or think you might be interested, add your name to our email list so that you will be notified when a steer is ready. The entire process takes about 3 weeks so you have time to get ready for the meat.
Our steer have not and will not receive antibiotics or steroids. They grow naturally at the rate they are intended and their weight is natural. They have access to 10 acres of grass pasture and an abundance of hay during the winter months.
Our steer eat grass! They are bottle fed until they can eat grass on their own. Grain is a special treat for our steer and they don't get it very often. The more grass they eat the leaner the meat. We don't "fatten" them up as they get older to increase their weight. 100% grass fed.
Our steer go from the pasture to the butcher to the freezer. No need to wonder how long the meat has been sitting in the display case.
Studies have shown that grass fed beef are higher in Omega 3 & 6, Vitamins A, B, D, E K, and Beta Carotene
Estimated $1800 depending on the weight
Many consider purchasing a whole beef, whether it's all for them or they are splitting it with another family - either way a whole beef is a very good value.
Complete control over what you want in your beef package just like 1/2 beef.
Estimated 350-400 lbs of beef.
One customer cut order sheet only. This order will be picked up as one order, you'll be responsible for splitting the meat IF you are splitting with others.
How much freezer space will you need?
1/2 beef needs about 8 cubic feet
The rule of thumb is one cubic foot of freezer space for every 35-40 pounds of packaged meat.
