Courtney + Rob’s Modern-Day Fairy Tale

Love stories come in all shapes and sizes, especially in this modern-day world. Courtney and Rob’s love story began with a very modern approach: online. Late last October, 22 Acres Farm was honored to share in the next chapter of their story.

How It All Began

Courtney and Rob’s love story started out a little differently than some. On a random day in March, shortly after posting a selfie on Instagram, Rob sent Courtney a message. Only, the message wasn’t to compliment her, but to ask her some questions about her dad and his police and K9 work. As an aspiring police officer, just like her father, the two clicked right away, leading to a blossoming future together.

The Engagement
Rob and Courtney have faced many challenges as a couple, including Rob’s time in the police academy and Courtney’s completion of nursing school. As the two continued through life together, it finally came time for Rob to pop the question. Here’s the story of their engagement in Courtney’s words:

“I was taking maternity pictures for my best friend Malorrie, and all day everyone was acting suspicious… In the middle of the session, they told me to go behind the barn in her backyard and there Rob was, down on one knee, with “will you marry me?” written in chalk on the barn. It was one of the happiest days of my life.”

Planning for “I Do”

Ready for forever, Courtney and Rob got busy planning their wedding day. When the couple discovered 22 Acres Farm, they loved it right away. When asked why they chose us, Courtney shared:

“For many reasons, it’s close to home, which is nice. It is beautiful, has everyone Rob and I wanted [in] wedding venues. We love the natural look of the barn and the lighting. We also love how there are so many options, and we can make it our own on the special day.”

Modern-Day Happily Ever After

Courtney and Rob wanted a simple, cool wedding, which came together beautifully. The couple had their ceremony in our spacious barnyard, with stunning fields—and even some adorable baby cows behind them. They also utilized our beautifully handcrafted cross, completing the beautiful backdrop for their ceremony.

The Reception

From the great music and photo booth to the mobile bar and delicious wood-fired pizza, the happy couple and their loved ones had a wonderful time celebrating with the happy couple. We asked the happy couple if they had any advice to share. Courtney shared, “Try not to stress, soak it up, and enjoy the moment,” and we couldn’t agree more!
