Madison + Thomas Took a Chance on Love

Madison and Thomas took a chance, a chance led to love—and a farm style wedding. Early last November, 22 Acres Farm hosted this happy couple as they kicked off their happily ever after as husband and wife, surrounded by those who love them.

Where Their Story Began

This happy couple met at a Young Life event while they were both attending college—Madison, a freshman, and Thomas, a sophomore. As the years progressed, the two became good friends, and Thomas had his sights set on Madison. When he finally got the courage to tell her how he felt, Madison quickly shot him down and told him she just wanted to be friends.

They Took a Chance on Love

Madison soon realized that she may have jumped the gun, later confronting Thomas about it. After deciding to go on a few dates, the two realized that there was something special between them, and their relationship and love for each other grew.

The Proposal

As their love for each other continued to grow, plans for their future together started taking shape. One fall morning, as the two headed to Cincinnati to visit Madison’s family, Thomas texted Madison’s father and let him know of his plans to propose that very morning. From here, we will let Madison tell the rest of the story:

“I was absolutely clueless. It was supposed to be a pumpkin festival with my family, but when we arrived Thomas didn’t like the vibe. Luckily, one of my cousins suggested that we go to their house for a fire afterward. He popped the question when we were all standing around the fire!”

Planning for “I Do”

To locate the perfect spot for their wedding, Madison and Thomas searched high and low for a farm-style location in the middle of the two families—allowing everyone to travel with ease. The Columbus based 22 Acres Farm was the perfect location to make their wedding-day dreams come true, and this happy couple got busy planning their rustic fall wedding.

The couple’s original dream was to exchange their vows in the barnyard overlooking the gazebo, with the reception held inside afterward. Unfortunately, Hurricane Nicole was tearing through the Midwest, so we had to use Plan B. We know mother nature usually has a mind of her own, so coming up with a backup plan is something we coordinate with all our couples.

Despite the change in plans, the day turned out to be quite perfect. After Madison and Thomas exchanged vows, the family jumped into gear to help prepare the Barn for the reception. In less than an hour, we transformed the entire space, ready for a night of celebrations with the happy couple.

From polaroid photos to custom cocktails, everyone in attendance enjoyed dancing the night away with the happy couple.
