The Good Vibes of Madeleine and Matt

Madeleine and Matt shared the “Good Vibes” of their live when they were married in their beautiful church house on the first Friday of last October. 22 Acres Farm was privileged to host this lovely couple’s reception, celebrating their blissful union with family and friends on that beautiful fall day.

Madeleine and Matt’s story began in graduate school on the second day of class. Madeleine, a “lefty,” found the perfect seat. Four rows from the front on the left-hand side, close to the door, and avoiding the possibility of being bumped while writing. By day two, someone had snagged her perfect seat, leaving only one seat open, the one next to Matt’s.

Focused on school and not the type to make the first move, Matt didn’t pay Madeleine any mind for nearly three months, despite sitting next to her every day. Determined to befriend Matt, Madeleine finally succeeded, and a friendship formed. Shortly thereafter, the two started dating.

From Friends to Lovers

The early months in a relationship are an exciting time, especially as you are falling in love. Unfortunately, the COVID pandemic hit shortly after these two began dating, leaving Madeleine and Matt no choice but to leave school and move back home with family.

Despite lockdowns and the two hours between them, these two made it work. Finally, when life regained a little normalcy, Madeleine and Matt’s relationship continued to flourish into a love many only dream of having. After nearly two years of dating, Matt prepared to pop the question.

After walking to their favorite brewery and enjoying a nice evening meal together, Matt suggested they take the long way home. When the two approached the bocce ball court in their apartment complex, Madeleine found candles and rose petals forming a heart, with beautiful twinkle lights overhead. She turned to find Matt down on one knee, and excitedly replied, “Yes!”

The Wedding Day

In love and ready to tie the knot, Madeleine and Matt’s special day quickly approached. When asked what she most looked forward to on their wedding day, Madeleine shared,

“Simply marrying my life partner. All the rest is a pleasant bonus.”

Marrying in their church was important to Madeleine and Matt, and the two exchanged their vows offsite before family and loved ones. While the happy couple took photos with their bridal party, family and friends, preparations for a cocktail hour and reception were underway.

Our one-acre parking lot allowed for the perfect turnaround space for the shuttle service that was used to transport guests, keeping it simple for guests to travel from the ceremony to 22 Acres Farm. Guests enjoyed great music, delicious food, and cocktails, while dancing the evening away with the happy couple.

Madeleine and Matt shared what advice they had for future couples, and we couldn’t love it more:

“Don’t sweat the small stuff! No one will remember what your centerpieces look like, but they will remember the love and joy of the day!”
