Opposites Attract

Makenzie and Anthony’s story began in the fall of 2022 at Indiana Wesleyan University. Introduced by their match-making friends at a small gathering. Although the two describe themselves as having opposite personalities, their connection was instant. In fact, just three weeks after their first date, they were already meeting each other’s families! Since then, they have built their relationship through shared adventures.

A Surprise Proposal to Remember

Anthony pulled off a completely surprise proposal with creativity and heart. What Makenzie thought was a simple date night to see a play turned into a walk through a local park, where she stumbled upon a romantic setup: a heart made of flower petals and candles. Even as Anthony kneeled down and took her hands, she was in total disbelief—until she joyfully said “yes!” when he popped the big question!

An Idyllic Outdoor Ohio Wedding

When planning their wedding, Makenzie and Anthony dreamed of an earthy, nature-inspired celebration full of greenery. They were instantly smitten with 22 Acres Farm’s expansive landscape. As Makenzie said, “We chose 22 Acres Farm because of the beautiful landscape. As soon as we stepped onto the property, we knew it was the right place!”

The ceremony took place outdoors facing our signature black fence, with golden sunlight warming the rolling green fields. The peaceful, open-air setting provided the perfect atmosphere for the couple to exchange vows in front of their loved ones.

Saving with Style in the “Something Borrowed” Room

Our “Something Borrowed” room was a hit with the couple—and a smart way to stretch their budget while still achieving a gorgeous, cohesive look. Makenzie and Anthony used our handcrafted wooden arch, floral garlands, food trays, candles, easels, and other hand-picked items. The results were effortlessly elegant and deeply personal.

A Celebration to Remember

Following the ceremony, the celebration continued inside our Barn reception space. Guests enjoyed delicious food and drinks, lively music, and created lasting memories in a joyful, relaxed atmosphere.
